Mum to four children, Rachel is currently tandem breastfeeding her 18 month-old daughter Orabella alongside her 4 year-old son Orlando. It’s something she is embracing with confidence after she avoided breastfeeding her older daughters the first time around when she felt she lacked knowledge and support.

What do you love most about your body?

“It’s taken me many years to adjust to my ‘new’ body after having children – I’ve learnt to love it but it hasn’t come easily for me. I’m now in a place where I look at my body and I’m extremely proud of it for creating and carrying four beautiful children, and nourishing two of them with breastfeeding.

“The part I love most would probably be my tummy as it’s grown my babies, and I love my boobs for breastfeeding them. Watching my children grow and thrive is amazing.”

What do you wish you could change about society’s attitudes to women’s bodies?

“For me, this is something that’s incredibly important. I’m a mama to three beautiful girls and I’m extremely careful about the language I use about my body. I want them to know that everybody is beautiful, there is no such body as the “bikini body” or the “beach body”. I wish society would see that women don’t need to ‘snap back’ after carrying a child; we don’t need to lose a few pounds or eat less; we need to be left alone to do as we wish and embrace our bodies no matter the shape or size.”

What advice would you give to anyone self-conscious or unconfident about their own body?

“This was me, especially a few years ago. I truly believed the things I was told when growing up, plus social media and magazines made me believe that if I wasn’t super slim my body was not acceptable in society – I would wear really baggy clothing to hide myself.

“I would say to anyone: be yourself, be confident in your own skin and embrace the way your body looks. I saw a quote once that said something like, “on your death bed, you won’t be thinking about how your body looked and how much you wished it was slimmer. You’ll be thinking about all the things you didn’t do, all the things you missed out on due to hiding your body away, all the times you talked negatively about yourself when you should have been out there enjoying life” – it’s so, so true. Embrace your body and wear the bikini – everyone has a bikini body!”

Rachel is loving…

Blossom bra (in leopard): “I just love the stylish print and I feel really comfortable in it. Royce nursing bras fit amazingly well and make feeding incredibly easy.”
