Introducing our new Wellness Month and how feeling good naked can keep you happy and healthy both inside and out
Excuse the rather personal question, (ahem), but when did you last see yourself naked? We don’t mean a quick glimpse when you stepped out of the bath or got undressed for bed. We mean, when did you last take the time to get a really good look at your naked body in the mirror?
Examining ourselves from all angles while completely starkers is something a lot of us approach with a smidge of trepidation, or even shy away from altogether. It’s all too common to automatically hone in on what’s ‘wrong’, what we’d like to change, or what we’re even shocked by. Even if you’re body confident you might not spend more than a few seconds staring at your naked reflection. But becoming familiar with how we look naked is good for us in many ways.
This is what we’ll be exploring in Royce’s new Wellness Month. Across our blog, newsletter and social media platforms, we’re devoting the next few weeks to women’s health and wellbeing – from nutrition to fitness and mental attitude – and the practical and easy habits we all can adopt to make us feel great, both inside and out (naked or dressed!).
Because feeling comfortable naked is about so much more than looks. Getting to know each part of our bodies, and how they might fluctuate day to day, helps us spot unusual changes or identify normal patterns – all of which means we understand our health so much better. Regularly standing in front of a mirror when naked means you become more familiar with how your hormones impact your body, such as causing bloating or puffy ankles around the same time every month. It could also save your life: looking at yourself naked to examine your breasts or skin, is a crucial part of spotting early signs of serious conditions, including cancer.
During Wellness Month, we’ll be featuring brilliant advice and achievable tips from nutritionists, body confidence activists and other health experts, to help you be your best naked self. October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Menopause Awareness Month, two topics close to our heart at Royce, so expect specific advice on breast health and staying fit, strong and happy throughout the menopause journey.
This month, we’re also co-hosting an intimate event, the Women’s Wellness Evening with Bravissimo in Manchester, full of sparkling conversation and feel-good connection, with body image and self-acceptance at its core (plus some expert bra fitting advice for how to feel amazing in your bra). Keep an eye on our socials in the coming weeks where we’ll be sharing the best bits from what promises to be a great evening.
So, if you’d like to be a part of the conversation, we’d love to know, when did you last look at yourself naked, and how did it make you feel? Click here to tell us by Friday 23rd October and we’ll send you a special 20% off code as a thank you. You can be completely anonymous, but we are interested in your age to see if attitudes differ across age groups.
If you’re currently a stranger to your naked body, we hope that by the end of October you’ll be best friends (or at least on more than nodding terms!).
Show your naked body some love by choosing the softest, most comfortable non-wired bras that feel like a ‘second skin’. Here’s our pick of the Royce range, including the newest set, the best cotton bra and the most comfortable bra for fuller cups:
Our ‘35th ‘anniversary’ bra combines style with practical support to help women feel confident and beautiful after breast surgery. This post-surgery bra is available in two modified designs depending on cup size: the A-E cup bra features lightly padded, moulded cups with lace detail; while F-H cup is a non-bralette style with thick straps and underband, and lace detail. Matching high-waisted briefs are available to complete the set.
An exceptionally comfortable bra for fuller cups, since it launched, we’ve been receiving fantastic feedback for Cara from our customers. So much so, that we expanded the colour range so it now comes in classic black alongside white and blush. If you’re a G to L cup, check out Cara’s non-padded, double-layered full cups with supportive side slings, and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
Comfi by name, comfy by nature, this customer favourite is made from high-quality, soft and breathable cotton with a touch of stretch. Lightly padded straps, non-padded cups and a front fastening design make Comfi-bra an obvious choice for relaxed evenings.
