This is where a well-designed post-surgery bra comes in. Choosing post-surgery bras – for your hospital bag and the recovery period
Here’s how to stay supported and comfortable for the weeks and months after surgery…
Get fitted – It’s important to get professionally fitted prior to surgery. A face-to-face fitting in person is best, and many Royce stockists are trained bra fitters, several with specialist expertise for post-surgery fitting – find your nearest independent fitter via our stockist list. If an in-person fitting isn’t possible, you can measure yourself at home using Royce’s online fit guide. We recommend going up a band size to allow for swelling.
Go wirefree – A wirefree bra will offer greater comfort immediately after surgery, it will also put less pressure on the delicate chest area. Luckily, even if we don’t explicitly mention it, be assured that all Royce bras are non-wired.
Choose details for comfort – Look for a secure full coverage shape with a deep centre and deep underarm edges to avoid irritating the surgery site. Consider choosing a front-fastening bra which can make putting on or removing your bra much easier. Additional details, such as padded straps and padded underband, will also make bra wearing a lot more comfortable in the recovery period.
